A revolution is brewing... The Midnight expansion will disrupt the habits of World of Warcraft players. After giving a taste of what's to come with the beta deployment earlier this month, Blizzard Entertainment drops the information everyone was waiting for: the release date.

We are well at home

Impatience is the feeling that must be overwhelming many World of Warcraft players. Why? Simply because the presentation of the Midnight expansion a few months ago was mouth-watering. The years go by, but the studio continues to develop experiences and introduce revolutions. This will be the case with this new content full of promises. The first, the most important, is to offer peaceful places accessible to everyone, regardless of faction. As you understand, characters from the Alliance and the Horde will be able to mingle, weapons sheathed, in complete tranquility. The Logis will therefore shake up the established norms. In addition, the Quarters that will be created will host multiple biomes, and players will be able to let their imagination run wild to decorate their homes.

This new feature was announced for early 2026. However, some people have already been able to discover it through a beta that was deployed a few days ago. It is still ongoing, with new features integrated in several phases. In broad strokes, those who have access can, among other things, discover the first four zones of Midnight, create their Haranir (a new allied race), or even become a void elf demon hunter. All this, not to mention Xal'atath and its devouring OST that will attempt to invade the rebuilt Silvermoon for the occasion. The release window for the final version of the expansion was a bit vague. Blizzard Entertainment has therefore updated the schedule by announcing the exact date. And it's March 3rd at 00:00 (French time) that has been chosen.

Sure, that gives a little over four months of waiting... But, there's a catch. As planned, all the people who pre-purchased Midnight will be able to access it well before others. More precisely, they will have access starting December 3rd, with the deployment of update 11.2.7, more charmingly named "The Warning". Fans of Blizzard Entertainment games will even be highly rewarded for their loyalty as they will be entitled to additional rewards for other games from the publisher. To do this, they will simply need to complete the welcome quest of the housing system and earn the achievement "Welcome Home!". Once these prerequisites are checked off, they will be able to obtain the following rewards:

  • Hearthstone
    • Card back "True Hearth"

  • Overwatch 2
    • Model, tag, and calling card Xal’atath for Symmetra
    • Profile icon "The Dark Heart"

  • Diablo Immortal
    • Sin’dorei Portal

  • StarCraft II
    • Console skins themed on the Horde and the Alliance
