The EVO 2026 was the must-attend event at the end of June for everyone who appreciates versus fighting. While several big names in the discipline were of course represented, one must not overlook the arrival of 2XKO, Riot Games' fighting game incorporating elements from the League of Legends universe. In addition to several professionals who competed, including bleed, Supernoon, SonicFox, and INZEM, the event allowed for the unveiling of a surprise. It was a video revealing the next two characters who will join the cast.
A rose, light, blooming content
A little earlier in the month, players who are into 2XKO, the 2v2 fighting game set in the League of Legends universe, were treated to a dose of new features. Indeed, as we described in our columns, Senna and Thresh have joined the cast. Additionally, Riot Games even introduced Ascension, a new PvE game mode that challenges players with increasingly difficult tasks, both solo and in duo co-op. Naturally, the development studio aims to inject fresh blood by expanding the roster over time... But not by doing just anything.
Indeed, it aims to work on each character so that everyone can bring their own touch while avoiding the duplicate effect. To achieve this level of quality, Riot Games adds new Champions sparingly over the months. With 2XKO making its debut at EVO 2026, the prestigious event for fighting game enthusiasts, the studio couldn't let the opportunity pass. It had to make an impact with an announcement. Surprise, it unveiled a video presenting the last two characters who will join the roster this year.
On one side, we have Lux, the mage from Demacia. Luxanna Crownguard, her full name, will use her magic to deal damage from a distance when she's not fighting in close combat with her light staff. Even though the reveal video doesn't show the entire moveset yet, the few seconds revealed allow us to appreciate the special attack echoing her final spark. However, we will have to wait until fall 2026 to discover a more complete presentation video.
On the other side, we have Samira. This hothead, nicknamed the desert rose, has a style reminiscent of a certain demon hunter. With her customized sword and two black powder pistols, she should electrify the fights, inviting players to multiply combos until triggering her ultimate attack. In both cases, it is clear that the style of these two characters should fit well with the game, especially considering that both champions are very popular with the League of Legends community. Now we just have to wait until next fall to see more and get a precise release date.
