Since 2017, Fortnite has been a worldwide success. Offering access to multiple experiences and highlighting numerous collaborations, Epic Games' title continues to captivate a large community. Accessible on multiple platforms, including PCs, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, the title is also playable on smartphones and tablets. On March 19, people with an Android device will be able to access it more easily by downloading it directly from the Google Play Store.

A highly anticipated return for more convenience

The more popular a game is, the more likely it is to attract a wider audience. To facilitate this, the simplest way is to offer as many options as possible for easy access. On PC and consoles, no problem, the title is very well established and easy to access. However, to allow less sedentary players to enjoy Fortnite, Epic Games has developed a mobile version, in addition to the Cloud version accessible via Amazon Luna, Nvidia Geforce Now, and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

However, due to financial issues, playing the mobile version of Fortnite on Android devices, iPhone, or iPad is not as easy as with other games, mainly in Europe. Indeed, to enjoy it, one must either go through an AltStore or access it via the Epic Games Store. This requires some maneuvering. This situation changes today, at least for everyone who owns a smartphone or tablet running Android.

Indeed, it's official, Fortnite returns (it was removed in 2020) today on the Google Play Store, worldwide. No more maneuvering, no more searching for how to install it. Now, just open Google's app store, search for "Fortnite," and install it. It's as simple as that. Then you just have to enjoy the game at your fingertips or by connecting a compatible controller, like the Xbox wireless controller, Sony's DualShock 4 or DualSense, or the Razer Kishi V2 or Ultra. The only real constraint of this portable version is the unavailability of the original Save the World experience. However, you can still enjoy it on other platforms, especially since it will become free starting April 16.
